Tourist Visa

Tourist visa requirements for Oman are depends on country to country. Securing an e-Visa before travelling is recommended. Keep in mind that e-Visas can take up to 4 days to be processed. To apply for an e-Visa, visit www.evisa.rop.gov.om

Weather

The best time to visit is during the winter months between October to April when the weather is pleasant and cool. April and May months are pleasant, but warmer than the winter months. The summer months of June to September can be hot although the temperature remains pleasant in the mountain range.

About People

Omani people are warm and welcoming people. In return, it’s important to show respect and follow the cultural norms. Always be friendly, polite, and avoid offensive language and offensive gestures. Please do not take photos of locals without their permission and avoid taking photos of government buildings and airports. Recreational drones are also illegal in Oman.

About Cloths

Oman is modernized in such a way that where the culture and tradition is still kept alive. Oman’s culture is both ancient and modern, with new ideas to complement the old. However comfortable clothing is recommended & it’s not necessary for women to cover their heads unless entering a mosque. There is no fixed dress code which will be forced on you
Men & Women must wear shirts / t-shirts and long trousers (OR trouser should be till knee length) in, museums, Old Souqs & Old villages (Especially in Nizwa City & Villages). Knee-length shorts can be used at the beach or in the pool, on tours when the guide will suggest this.
To visit the Grand Mosque, women must be covered up to the ankles and wrists, no neckline in front or behind the shoulders, and wear a scarf on the head. Men must wear long trousers and a shirt / t-shirt with sleeves.

Traditional Villages

When visiting a village (traditional species), maintain respectful behavior. Generally the inhabitants are hospitable and smiling, reciprocating with a smile is much appreciated. Do not enter the houses even if the door is open, without being invited. In case it is a good idea to take off your shoes to go inside.
